I didnt have any real bad beats in the game. Nobody "runner runner'd" me as had happened to me before. No real suck outs. The worst bad beat I took was sometime in the middle of the tourney when I had turned a straight and went "All in". I got called by someone with two pair who caught his full house on the river. I had been chip leader before that. I lost a lot of my chips then and continued to slide down til I was almost blinded out. I remember wondering if I would be able to survive to cash. Didn't play a lot of hands but I remember finally getting AA's, tripling up and getting some breathing room. Making the final table was great. I recognized some of the people there from tables I played at earlier in the game (kiddekatt and AC). I knew that they would do well as they were solid players. I remember a lot of action taking place at the final table. I tried to play position and tight aggressive. I didn't lose many of the hands I got involved in. I couldnt afford to as I didn't have a lot of chips.I got into a hand with AC near the end. I cracked his KK's with an A/8 and took him out. He was pissed!! He said later that he cooled down after having a beer. I remember that in 3 way play the 2 chip leaders went at it with B daddy taking the other guy out. Going into heads up I think he had like a 5:1 chip lead on me. With nothing to lose I just put a lot of pressure on him every hand and chipped away at his stack. The last hand of the game I called his min raise with 2/6 off. The flop came 2/6/J. I think he had J/Q. Eventually we were all in before the turn. My 2 pair held up and I took the pot and the game.
Please tell Doyle to keep his blog going. I look forward to reading it. The day I joined DoylesRoom back in July, he had posted something about reading a book on Buddhism. I thought about the buddhist monks and how patient and determined they are, so I picked the name ChipZen from that hoping to play my game with that same patience and determination.
