Five-Card Draw Poker
About

Five-Card Draw Poker has two rounds of betting. The maximum bet doubles after the first round of betting.

The object of the game is to finish with the best poker hand and win the pot.

In Five-Card Draw Poker, after all the Players have contributed the same amount into the pot, the Players can discard up to five cards to try and better their hands.

Two to five Players can play Five-Card Draw Poker at one time.

Playing Five-Card Draw Poker

Note:
To play Five-Card Draw you must have enough chips on the table to place an ante.

Five-Card Draw plays as follows:

  1. Place an ante on the table.

    Note:
    The ante amount is set by the card room.
  1. You are dealt five cards, all face down.


  2. A round of betting begins. Players can either:
  1. After all the Players have contributed the same amount into the pot, the Players choose up to five cards to exchange in order to try and better their hands.

    Note:
    To discard cards do the following:
  • Click the cards to select the cards you want to discard.
  • Click the Discard Cards button to discard your cards. New cards are dealt to your hand.
  1. A final round of betting begins, followed by the Showdown.
Game Sequence

Each Player places an ante on the table.

Each Player is dealt five cards face-down.

First betting round.

Each player chooses cards for exchange.

Final betting round.

Players compare hands to determine the winner. The Player with the highest hand wins the pot. This is known as the Showdown.

Strategies

To improve your chances of winning, use the following strategy:

  • There is a chance that you will not better your opening hand. If you do not have a pair or better, or four cards to a flush or straight, Fold.
